Seen here with its black and white recognition stripes (after D-Day, known as Invasion stripes), the Hawker Tempest was one of the best fighters of its time. Extremely fast at low altitudes, highly manoeuvrable and heavily armed, it never got a chance to prove itself as a high-altitude interceptor. Instead, it excelled at defending Britain against the V-1. 80% Combed Cotton, 17% Polyamide, 3% Elastane. We use seamless knitting to create a sock with no stitches. Wash inside out (40ºC/100ºF max). Do not tumble dry, iron, bleach or dry clean.
