DETAILS
Niki Lauda's helmet at this point of his career reflected his life away from the F1 circus, that of Owner & CEO of Laudair. The simple and distinct white "L" on the sides of Niki's helmet showcased the company's logo along with his longtime "Parmalat" dairy sponsorship on a bright red field. Niki had to reimagine his approach to competing against Alain Prost in 1984. Focusing a bit more on raceday setup than trying to go flat out in qualifying, Niki made sure his car was in contention for wins, and strong finishes. Lauda won the 1984 F1 World Championship by a mere .5 point at the finale in Estoril, Portugal.
This Bell XFM-1 helmet is what Niki used during his 1984 Formula 1 World Championship season for McLaren - TAG/Porsche.
